Greenland's Minister for Statehood and Foreign Affairs Vivian Motzfeldt has paid a week-long visit to China. During a one-on-one interview with Lucia, Motzfeldt shares her expectations for the development of Greenland-China ties. She said China is the most important market for Greenland in Asia.
During her week-long visit to China, Motzfeldt officially opened Greenland's Representation in Beijing and emphasized that the Greenland Government has a long-standing friendship with China.
The representation was established in 2021 handling Greenlandic official matters in China and nearby East Asian countries. During her stay, Motzfeldt met with officials at China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce. The two sides vowed to enhance cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, tourism, and the Arctic.
She also traveled to the Chinese coastal city of Qingdao and attends the 2023 China Fisheries and Seafood Expo.
During the interview, Motzfeldt shares her expectations for the development of Greenland-China ties. She said China is the most important market for Greenland in Asia.
