The 6th Sino-Nordic Cup Football Tournament was hosted at Daxing District Sports Center in Beijing on Nov. 11, 2023. Five Chinese teams from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM), the General Administration of Customs China (GACC) and the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) and four Nordic teams from Embassies of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Iceland participated in the tournament.
Wu Hongbo, Special Representative of the Chinese government on European affairs, Zheng Huiyu, Deputy Director-general of the Department of European Affairs of MFA, Per Augustsson, Ambassador of Sweden to China, and other foreign and Chinese guests attended the opening ceremony. After fierce competition, the team of MOF finally ranked first，the Danish second, and MOFCOM third.
After the match, the Chinese and Nordic players said that it was a great success and the players’ persistence and positivity greatly impressed them. The match enhanced the friendship and mutual understanding between the two sides, and further promoted the continuous and in-depth development of China-Nordic people-to-people exchanges and sports cooperation.
The Sino-Nordic Cup Football Tournament has been held five times since 2015.
