The 2024 Norwegian Film Festival officially opened yesterday in Beijing. Running from August 30 to September 8, the festival will showcase eight critically acclaimed Norwegian films over the course of the event and this offers film enthusiasts a unique opportunity to explore the diverse and rich landscape of Norwegian cinema.

The opening night featured a screening of Songs of Earth by the renowned Norwegian director Margreth Olin. Known for her powerful storytelling and breathtaking visuals, Olin’s latest work left a profound impression on the audience. Viewers were captivated not only by Norway’s stunning natural landscapes but also by the deeply moving portrayal of the director’s relationship with her parents.
